Hydrogel hand masks: what they are and how to use them
In short: a hydrogel hand mask is a powder with plant additives that turns into a thick gel when mixed with water. It is applied in a thick layer to the hands, sets like rubber in about 5 minutes and is peeled off in one piece. Shelly has three masks: rose petals (moisture), cornflower petals (irritation and redness) and goji berries (even skin tone). Use them 1–2 times a week, in a course of up to 10 treatments.
How a hydrogel mask works
The mask is a powder with petals or berries. On contact with water it forms a smooth, thick consistency that sets after being applied to the skin. Then the active ingredients start to work and penetrate the epidermis. The masks contain, among other things, plant extracts, peptides and hyaluronic acid.
Which Shelly mask for what
- Rose petals — moisturises the skin of the hands for 24 hours and has a pleasant floral scent. Collagen, petals and rose extract smooth the skin, the nail plate becomes more elastic and the cuticles soft. For dry and sensitive skin.
- Cornflower petals — relieves irritation and redness. A complex with Perfection Peptide P3, cornflower petals and extract soothes the epidermis and smooths microcracks. For dry and irritated skin.
- Goji berries — brightens and evens out the skin tone of the hands. Rich in antioxidants; goji berries contain a lot of vitamin C. For dry skin and skin with pigmentation.
Each mask is 200 g. Suitable for all skin types — for salon and home use.
How to apply the mask: 5 steps
- Mix the mask with water to a smooth, paste-like consistency — thoroughly and quickly, because it sets within a few minutes.
- Apply a thick layer to the hands and fingers with a spatula. A layer that is too thin will not give the necessary pressure on the skin.
- Wait until the mask has fully set — this takes up to 5 minutes.
- Peel it off in one piece, from the wrist towards the fingers — at this point the mask is elastic like rubber.
- Rinse off the residue with warm water.
How often: 1–2 times a week, up to 10 treatments
The masks are used in courses: 1–2 times a week, up to 10 treatments per course. With regular use, hands look well cared for and smooth. The effect is visible straight after the treatment, so the mask also works as a quick fix before an important occasion.
Hydrogel masks in the salon
The masks are suitable for cosmetologists, nail technicians and beauty salons. It is an add-on to a manicure that raises the value of the visit and is pleasant for the client.
