How to raise the average manicure bill: add-on services and how to price them

Nov 6, 2026

In short: the average bill goes up when a client can choose something more than the basic service. Three simple rules help: an affordable basic service with a premium option offered in person, related products and services, and personal offers for the next visit. Add-on services with Shelly products — manicure gloves, a SPA bath and hydrogel masks — cost the salon from €0.88 to €2.70 per treatment. On top of that you add your own work and margin.

3 ways to raise the average bill

  1. An affordable basic service, then a better option in person. A basic service at a fair price brings the client in. In the salon you can offer her a premium version, e.g. a European or SPA manicure instead of a classic one.
  2. Related products and services. Good-quality polishes, home-care tools and cuticle oils go well with a manicure.
  3. Personal offers. Give the client a personalised offer or a voucher she can use on her next visit.

Manicure add-ons with Shelly products

The more add-ons on your price list, the easier it is for every client to find something for herself. The simplest options are:

  • Hand massage — a simple extra that adds value to the visit.
  • Shelly manicure gloves — with a nourishing emulsion containing collagen, keratin and lotus extract. The client wears them for 10–15 minutes, then you do the manicure. No water bowl is needed, and the cuticles are easy to push back with an orange stick. They work for both classic and European manicures. More in our article on waterless SPA manicure and pedicure.
  • Soft Blade SPA bath — with 15% urea, allantoin, and tea tree and lemongrass oils. It softens cuticles and rough skin, strengthens nails and relieves tired hands. For a manicure, 1–3 pumps are enough; the soak takes 7–15 minutes.
  • Hydrogel hand masks — easy to use, with a visible result after the first treatment, and economical. Choose from: rose petal (moisturises hands for up to 24 hours), cornflower petal (soothes irritation and redness) and goji berry (brightens and evens skin tone). For the rose petal mask, the brand recommends 1–2 treatments a week, in a course of up to 10. Details in how to use a hydrogel hand mask.

How to price an add-on service

The formula is simple:

product price ÷ number of treatments per pack + your work (and other consumables) = add-on price

The first part of the formula is the product cost per treatment. The number of treatments comes from the brand: 10 pairs of gloves give 10 treatments, 500 ml of SPA bath gives 25, and a 200 g mask jar gives 10.

Product cost per treatment

Product Price Treatments Cost per treatment With −10% (Pro Zone)
Manicure gloves, 10 pairs €26.95 10 approx. €2.70 approx. €2.43
Soft Blade SPA bath, 500 ml €21.95 25 approx. €0.88 approx. €0.79
Hydrogel mask, 200 g €24.95 10 approx. €2.50 approx. €2.25

This is the cost of the product only. To each figure you add the price of your work, other consumables and the salon's margin — you set these yourself, based on your own price list. The prices shown are retail prices at the time of writing and may change.
